Eco Management and Audit Scheme

 

  • Application of the European Union's voluntary "Eco Management and Audit Scheme" (EMAS) to key demonstration projects in each of the three partner regions of ECOSERT, to ensure that new tourism developments are environmentally sustainable.

  • Pilot application of EMAS to particular tourist attractions and destinations, covering specific sites for ecotourism, conservation, restoration, cultural heritage and preparation of draft environmental statement.

  • Guidelines for the implementation of EMAS in sustainable tourism projects and tourism activities and areas.
