 RESTP

 

An innovative planning tool which:

  • Plans tourism spatially and through time to attain sustainable tourism

  • Transcends current local administrative boundaries and responsibilities

  • Co-ordinates actors and stakeholders from the public, private and voluntary sectors which currently have little interaction in tourism planning

  • Integrates tourism with land use, transport, infrastructure, environmental protection and cultural heritage policies

  • Diversifies and promotes ecotourism, cultural tourism and other alternative forms of tourism

  • Phases actions over a 20-year horizon

  • Provides a framework for monitoring and updating
